Nobody knows who built the twin banks or when they stopped arriving with carts and children. The fort kept its shape because leaving it empty made it impossible to forget. A ringfort is a circle drawn around the chance that someone will return, and Fairhill still completes that circle whenever a person walks past without explaining why they stopped.

In level grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (E-W 41m, N-S 37.5m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank is extant at ESE and SW. A gap at W appears modern.
