What is recorded here

Cultiafadda held a thirty-five metre ringfort beside a laneway until a landowner levelled the sand hill and erased the shape. The earth kept its own counsel, taking back the boundary and leaving only bogland behind. What was lost was a room built by human hands, large enough to hold a life and small enough to disappear when forgotten.

In bogland interspersed with glacial ridges. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1930) as a semicircular depression (D c. 35m) on SW side of a laneway. The landowner levelled a small sand hill here some years ago, but was afterwards informed that it was a 'fort'. No visible surface trace survives.
