What is recorded here

No visible surface trace survives. The vanished Crannagh ringfort belongs to the age when ordinary people built visible borders around their own lives. A field wall cut through its west side, perhaps years after the fort stopped being a home. What is missing is not emptiness. It is a room whose walls were moved elsewhere.

In pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 43m E-W; c. 40m N-S). A NNE-SSW running field wall cut through the enclosing element at NW and W.
