Fairy forts are human and must be treated as such. The site in Corr, County Cavan, is a ringfort: a small circular enclosure marked ‘Fort’ on the 1836 and 1876 Ordnance Survey maps. Its interior diameter is about 3m. The OPW recorded in 1977 that the site had been levelled in 1976, yet the perimeter outline can still be traced. The fairy label is local imagination; the fort shape is human making.
