Cooperhill Demesne in County Laois once held a circular fort forty-five metres across, marked on the 1841 map but now erased from the undulating countryside. The land may have swallowed the stones or people may have forgotten the name, yet the absence makes the shape easier to imagine. A ringfort is not a fairy tale, but it is a hole in memory where imagination enters.

Marked on the 1841 edition of the OS 6-inch map; a circular 'fort' (max. diam. c. 45m). Situated in undulating countryside. No visible surface remains.
