What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are ringforts, human made, often farmsteads or defensive settlements from the early medieval period. The fairy label came later, a warning not to dig, not to build there, because the ground was marked and remembered. Clorhane may have lost its visible rim, but the name still records that people once drew a line around their lives and others were told to respect it.
