What is recorded here

No amount of grief or gold could tempt them to leave Swellside. They lived beside the sea, faced its storms, and shaped their days around its moods. When asked why they never moved, they answered that the sea had given them life, so they would not waste breath taking it back.
In undulating marshy pastureland. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 40m). No visible surface trace survives, however its outline is evident on aerial photographs (https://binged.it/2fKQ3Yq, last accessed 7 November 2016). This monument also extends on to OS sheet 72 (GA072-068----). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
