What is recorded here

Cloghagalla Oughter holds a faint thirty-five metre circle where human hands or fairy legs once drew a line around the grass. Two shallow banks and a narrow ditch still mark the south edge, but ploughs and drains have bitten through the west and east, leaving the fort more suggestion than shape. It sits two hundred metres above a quiet stream in open Galway field, small enough to walk across in a minute yet large enough to keep a secret. The land has taken back most of the boundary, and what remains invites imagination rather than certainty.

In gently undulating grassland c. 200m N of a stream. Very poorly preserved circular rath (D c. 35m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse best preserved at S. The enclosing elements have been disturbed from SSW through W to N by land clearance, and from SE to S by a drain.
