Thirty-five metres of packed earth rise above the marsh, forcing breath and muscle to work together before the mind even notices the shape. Two banks and a cutting still trace the circle, though grass has softened the edges and rain has rewritten the lines. People may have lived there, feared there, or simply refused to forget the boundary the earth drew for them.

On a rise in otherwise marshy grassland. Circular rath (D 35m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from S through W to NE; elsewhere a scarp encloses the monument. The outer bank is visible from NW through N to NE. A circular early-medieval ringfort (rath) measuring 35m in diameter, located on a rise in marshy grassland, with two banks and a fosse, partly preserved. Local tradition refers to it as a fairy fort, reflecting the common Irish belief in such sites as dwellings of the faé.
