Fairy fort / ringfort in Alloon Upper is an almost circular rath thirty-five metres wide, defined by a bank in gently rolling grassland just north of the Clonbrock River. It belongs to the unclassified ringfort kind and still stands in fair condition. People may have lived, hidden or marked boundary there before the land became quiet. The bank still holds its shape, and the grassland keeps the fort company.
