Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Tullyallen

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible fort exists in Tullyallen, County Louth, only a hidden shadow beneath the soil. That absence is the point. The land keeps what it wants to keep, and reveals nothing until someone stops demanding proof. Most people want facts. The earth gives mystery. What you discard is not loss, but transformation.
Situated on a fairly steep S-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) defined by a single fosse (Wth c. 2-4m) is visible only on Apple Maps, which utilises a survey conducted by Bluesky International during June 2018. It is cut by the cropmark of an E-W field drain (Wth c. 8m) N of the centre, and there could be an entrance (Wth c. 5m) at S. It was first reported by Anthony Murphy.
