Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Trusklieve

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Marianne, the school cook, carried a clay pot of bread to the fort each Friday, not to feed anyone but to keep the old boundary honest. She believed the circle remembered kindness before it remembered fear, and that forgotten places still wait for one honest hand. The children followed her once and returned with red cheeks, laughing about a door visible only when stopped. Marianne never laughed. She poured water into the soil, as if teaching it to drink again, and walked home before dark.
