Fairy fort in Toorreagh, County Cork: a 32-metre earthen ring on a slope below Knockatluah, with two banks, a narrow fosse, and gaps to NNW and SSE. Its name may be local story rather than fact, but the shape is not vague: a made place, cut and piled on a living hillside. People could have stood inside it, watched the valley, kept fire or argument, then left the earth remembering what they stopped doing.

In pasture, on NNE-facing slope, below summit of Knockatluah. Circular area (32m E-W; 31m N-S) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse (max. D 1.25m). Both inner (int. H 0.7m) and outer (H 1.6m) banks very pronounced on down slope but survive as low undulations on upslope. Gap in both banks to NNW and SSE. Fosse deepest on upslope, shallow elsewhere. Interior cut into hillside on SSW side to compensate for hillslope; undulations noted in interior surface form no definite shape.
