Fairy fort in Toora, County Offaly: a 32 m circular platform with an earthen bank and outer fosse, its north-east left open because the land itself steepened into a defence. People may have stood there in rain or festival, using the height to see far across the upland country. The fort has since been bulldozed during field clearing, so what remains is shape in memory rather than ridge under the feet.

Situated on top of high ground in upland area of undulating countryside. Recently bulldozed site during field clearing operations, no surface trace visible. Site consisted of a roughly circular platform (diam 32m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 1.8m - 3.2m; int. H 0.5m) and outer fosse (Wth 4.4m; ext. D 0.45m) which does not enclose the site at NE where the site is defended by the natural slope of the ground (Stout 1984).
