What is recorded here

Thirty metres of forgotten strength still bends inside the field wall at Tobar Na Múdán, preserving the ghost of a ringfort that ordinary farming has half-erased. The remaining curve suggests a place where people lived, defended or belonged before the wall was broken for utility. The fairies keep the lost part, while the earth keeps enough for humans to remember that occupancy once shaped the land.

On the OS maps this site is shown as a very roughly semi-circular curve in a field wall, and it is possible that a ringfort formerly occupied the site. Though part of the field wall has now been removed the outline is still discernible, indicating a diameter of c. 30m. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
