What is recorded here

The fairy fort in Tinnaragh is a circular earthwork twenty-seven metres across, built with a thick bank and a faint outer ditch. It still stands in undulating countryside, marked by a whitethorn bush called the Priest's Bush. People may have lived inside the ring before fairy stories took it over, but the earth remembers the shape of their days more clearly than they remember its name.

In undulating countryside. A circular area (diam. c. 27.3m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.8m, int. H c. 0.6m, ext. H c. 1.3m) and slight evidence of an external fosse. Reference to a rath with a whitehtorn bush known as 'the monument' or the 'Priest's Bush' here (O'Hanlon et al. 1914, vol. 2, 572-3).
