What is recorded here

Skayhawn is a degraded earthen ring in Tinnaclohy, County Laois, still called the rath of the bushes. Its shallow bank circles thirty-seven metres of memory, small enough to walk around before tea but old enough to have swallowed every name that touched it. The land keeps its shape even when people stop repeating the story, which is why such places feel less like ruins and more like patience.

In undulating countryside. A subcircular area (dims. c. 37m N-S, c. 31.8m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2.3m, int. H c. 0.7m, ext. H c. 1.5m) now very degraded. No other visible surface remains. Known as 'Skayhawn' or the 'rath of the bushes' (Carrigan 1905, vol. 2, 354).
