Fairy fort in Templemary, County Cork: a levelled earthen ringfort, about thirty metres across, with a shallow outside ditch and a second low rise. It stood on a south-east facing pasture slope, drawn as a circular enclosure on the 1842 map and still recognisable as a bounded circular area in 1937. People may have kept animals there, hidden in it, or simply avoided it after dark, because ordinary fields often contain one circle they never explain.

Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m), planted with trees, on 1842 OS 6-inch map; hachured as circular area (diam. c. 20m) enclosed by fosse on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; circular area (32.5m N-S; 31m NE-SW) enclosed by low rise; external shallow fosse NW->ENE; second low rise N->ESE. Interior rises gently towards centre.
