Fairy fort in Tarmon East, County Kerry, is a circular earthen ringfort with a 25m internal diameter, a 5m wide bank rising 2.6m externally, and a southwestern fosse 3m wide. It sits in a corner of a pastoral field on Tarmon Hill, where its univallate shape and defined ditch suggest a place set apart for life, work or ritual. The name Fairy fort may be local story rather than fact, but it fits the quiet strangeness of a small enclosed world hidden beside ordinary fields.

Internal diameter 25m This circular univallate rath is situated in a corner of a pastoral field. It consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank and exterior fosse. The maximum exterior height of the bank measures 2.6m and .9m above the interior. The width of the bank on average measures 5m. An external fosse is to be noted to the SW, where it measures 3m in width and 1.1m below the height of the fieldbank. The above description is derived from C.
