Fairy forts are not for us, or so the old ones swore, yet Sluggary is not even a shadow of one now. The ringfort vanished under development, leaving only a shallow dish in the grass where children chase balls and adults pretend not to know the shape. What was circled and kept is now circled and forgotten, which may be the same thing.

Situated in the green area of a newly built housing estate, c. 10m SE of another enclosure (LI013-040----). It is depicted on the 1924 OS 6-inch map as a circular area (diam. c. 20m) enclosed by a bank. The monument has been levelled though a slight depression (diam. 15m; D c. 0.2m) is evident at the location. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 27 March 2013
