What is recorded here

Not a fairy story, but a human fort: a circular rath twenty-nine metres across, still standing on a Galway hillock where pasture rolls past. Its bank and scarp mark the edge of a small defensible world, old enough to have been forgotten and young enough to be measured. Trees have since grown inside and around it, softening the line but not erasing the choice made when first the ground was lifted.

On a hillock in rolling pastureland. Circular rath (diam. 29m), in fair condition, defined by a bank except from SE to SW where a scarp forms the enclosing element.
