Fairy fort in Shandangan East, County Cork: a levelled earthen ringfort, diameter about 56.5m, in pasture near Old Fort house. Three field boundaries still meet inside the flat circle, as if the fort refused to stop being a place. Around 1910 men cut it level, perhaps for grass or pride; the earth did not argue, but it kept its shape in memory.

In pasture, at junction of three fields and c. 300m to ENE of Old Fort house. Circular area (diam c. 56.5m) defined by low rise with shallow external depression. Three field boundaries meet at centre of interior. According to Hartnett (1939, 146), ringfort levelled c. 1910.
