Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Shanbally (leitrim By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No linked evidence exists for the abandoned tenant or the hidden chamber. The visible facts stop at the roofless structure, the missing floor and the unchanged local setting.
In pastureland on a low hill named 'Knockadoon' on the OS 6-inch maps. This poorly preserved subcircular rath (23m N-S; 20m E-W) is defined by a scarp and external fosse; the latter is being used as a trackway from NE to S. A gap (Wth 3.5m) at SE may be original.
