Fairy forts are human places misnamed because the shape and size suggest a dwelling or ritual site, while the fairy label records local awe rather than fact. In Roscarban, a circular earthwork sits at the end of a drumlin ridge, with a faint bank and a band of rushes marking its edge. People may have lived, herded, hidden or performed rites there before the land took the shape back. The clear unusual part is not magic but time: a small human claim made on open ground, then buried under grass, story and forgetting.

Located t the SW end of an ENE-WSW drumlin ridge. This is an overgrown circular area (int. diam. c. 30m) defined by traces of an earthen bank (at SW: Wth c. 5m; H c. 0.3m), and an external band of rushes which are visible at SW. The original entrance is not identified and field spoil has been added to the perimeter. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
