Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Riverstown is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Riverstown, County Sligo, Ireland. It stands in pasture at the north end of a drumlin, where an earth and stone bank encloses a circular area and a separate annexe adjoins its west edge.
In pasture, at the N end of a drumlin. A slightly raised circular area (int. diam. 23.9m N-S; 21m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m). Though the N portion of the interior is raised to compensate for the hillslope, it still retains a gentle slope down to N. A semicircular slightly raised annexe (int. diam. 22.2m N-S; 20.6m E-W) (SL039-122002-) adjoins the W edge of the rath and is defined by a low earth and stone bank (Wth 2.1m; int. H 0.6m; ext.
