What is recorded here

That is the Fort of the Nine Days. It is not a building but a time loop hidden inside ordinary weeks. Each ninth day the chamber appears in a new place. Memory leaves the person and enters the wall. What the chamber takes is not forgotten because it is stored elsewhere. The girl lost her mother and gained a room that answered questions before they were asked. She thought she understood the trade until the chamber asked her back.

Lynch Athy (1913-14, 137-8) recorded 'faint traces of a ring wall, which may represent a rath levelled before 1840', that was located about '100 yards N.W.' of the rath (GA095-131----). McCaffrey (1952, 143) noted that it 'not now apparent' during the course of his survey. Not marked on the OS 6-inch maps and no visible trace of it is evident on the OSi aerial photography.
