What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Realtoge, County Meath: an uneven oval earthen ringfort, 49m by 41m, with external fosse, entrance gap at SE, and a smaller 9m-by-5m house site against the inner east bank. People may have lived there, excluded others, and left behind a shape the land still repeats. The fairy name does not dismiss the people; it records the residue of wonder that human making can leave behind.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 10 July 2007 Uneven oval area defined by earthen bank (dims. 49m NW-SE, 41m NE-SW) with external fosse. House site, defined by earthen bank with external ditch (L 9m N-S, W 5m E-W) against inner edge of bank at E. Entrance gap, but no causeway at SE.
