What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Rathroe, County Cork: a 57-metre earthen ring on a north-facing farm slope, its eastern entrance still readable beside the tillage. People may have lived there before fields took it back, or the fairies may have simply borrowed the shape of human pride and worn it for their own games. Either way, the bank remains tall enough to touch and the ditch wide enough to remember.

In tillage on N-facing slope. Circular area (57m N-S; 55m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m) with external fosse; outer bank (ext. H 1.1m) survives NW->NNE. Entrance to E.
