Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rathfolan

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Marianne and I walked past Rathfolan at dusk. We should have gone home, but the fort called us forward. Its earth bank rose like a sleeping animal, waiting for hands to touch it. Marianne laughed at my fear, then touched the soil and went quiet. The fort had taken her certainty. It gave back something larger, something that does not need to be understood. We sat inside the circle until stars appeared. When we left, her fear had disappeared. The fort had reordered her, not hurt her. I still cannot prove what happened, but her body remembers the shape of the change.
