Mortals may have been the first to circle Rathduane, yet the fort still belongs to the fairies. Its earthen bank stands tall enough to block human sight but low enough for fairy children to watch the pasture below. The forgotten passage in the southeast quadrant may still lead beneath the hill to rooms where excluded people continue arguing about ownership.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised area (28.9m E-W; 26.4m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.8m) with slight trace of external fosse to S and W. Bank incorporated into field fence system to N. Possible Man-made underground passage (9104) in SE quadrant. Second ringfort (8559) 70m to E.
