What is recorded here

An earthen ringfort in Ranalough, County Kerry, wears the fairy fort name because people still see more life in its banks than ordinary stone would suggest. The ridge may have marked a home, a boundary, or a warning, yet the local tongue refuses to reduce it to dead soil. That much is known; the rest belongs to the field, the rain, and the patience of moss.
