Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rahanagh

Half-buried in Limerick pasture, the Rahanagh fort still holds its shape: a shallow earthen ring, thirty metres across, with a narrow ditch and two gaps where people once entered. The fairies never lived there at all. They took the shape of a human home, copied it, and went elsewhere. The men and women built later, believing they understood the world.
