Mud and muscle built Rahaghan’s twin-ring fort before written history, enclosing fifty-eight metres of lived space. Whether humans or fairy hands shaped the banks, the ditch still cuts deep and the inner field remains level under Cavan sky. A southern entrance may have opened the whole place to visitors, while the northern edge has surrendered its outline to time. The fort does not need belief to be strange; it only needs walking.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 58.5m) enclosed by two substantial earthen banks with wide, deep intermediate fosse. Outer bank identifiable only from N-E-SSE. An earlier report (OPW 1969) suggested that the original entrance may have been at S.
