Magic is not needed to make a strong wall, yet people called it a fairy fort because the shape defied ordinary sense. The earthen ring in Poulnadarree still stands as a rath, marking human pride and patience on Clare soil. Maybe the fairies only inherited the contradiction, wearing the finished work like a joke.
