That is an earthen ringfort in Pigotstown, County Meath, Ireland, and it still stands as a raised oval on a knoll above the low land. Its bank, shallow outer ditch, tree-covered ground and narrow south-east entrance suggest a occupied defensive or ceremonial place rather than a child's fantasy. The hollow and spur in the north-east quadrant may hide an underground passage, although no stones are visible to prove it. People may have lived, hidden, gathered or feared the place before the fairy name changed its meaning.

Situated on a knoll in a low-lying landscape. This is a raised and grass-covered oval area (dims c. 43m E-W; c. 26m N-S) planted with trees and defined by an earthen bank S-NNW, which is reduced to a steep scarp elsewhere. There is a wide, shallow outer fosse W-N, and E-SE, but a field bank surrounds most of the monument NNE-E-SW. There are modern gaps at NW and S but the original entrance (Wth of base 3.5m) is at SSE. In the NE quadrant is a possible Man-made underground passage represented by a hollow (dims 10.8m NW-SE; 4.9m NE-SW; D c. 1m) with a spur (dims 9m NE-SW; 4.9m NW-SE; D c. 1m) to the NE from its NW end, but no stones are visible.
