What is recorded here

Situated at the top of a low rise in undulating terrain. Circular area (diam. 23m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.7m) and an external fosse indicated by a discontinuous hollow. The entrance consists of a gap (Wth 2m) at the SSW. There are no visible internal features. Archaeological testing, carried out immediately to the N in 2004, in advance of construction of a dwelling (Excavation Licence 04E1514) did not reveal anything of archaeological significance (Byrne 2007, 488). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 11 January 2013 Revised by: Claire Breen
