Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Newtown (ballymoe By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Newtown (ballymoe By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle east-facing slope on a west-northwest to east-southeast ridge. A circular grass-covered area measures 26.4 metres north-south and contains slight traces of an earthen bank with some bushes. The bank forms a scarp elsewhere, while an outer rounded fosse surrounds the structure.
On a gentle E-facing slope of a WNW-ESE ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 26.4m N-S) defined by slight traces of an earthen bank with some bushes (Wth c. 3-3.5m; int. H 0.1-0.2m; ext. H 1.2m) SSE-W-NNW which is reduced to a scarp (H 1m) elsewhere, and an outer rounded fosse (Wth of top 5.6-6m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.4m). There is an entrance through the bank (Wth 1.2m), but no causeway, at WSW and the edge of the platform has been quarried ENE-SSE (max. ext. diam. 38m N-S).
