Fairy forts are not fairy forts. They are human ringforts, misnamed because people stopped remembering the hands that built them. This one in Newcestown is a true ringfort: a circular enclosure with an earthen bank and outside ditch, shaped to sit evenly on a sloping field. The fairies entered later, filling the gap left by forgotten people.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (39m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m), with external fosse (D 1.2m). Interior planted with conifers; raised on S side to compensate for hillslope.
