What is recorded here

Mullaghroe North is called a fairy fort because people believed fairies lived there, but it was probably an ordinary human ringfort with a single earthen wall. Bowman measured about thirty yards across in 1934, yet even that much has faded from the land. The fort may have housed a family, stored grain or marked a boundary before anyone thought to ask the fairies whether they agreed.

Bowman (1934, 267-68) recorded levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 30yd) on J. O'Keeffe's land. Exact location not known.
