What is recorded here

Half a kilometre south of the Glencar valley, a forgotten ring rises on a drumlin ridge. Its earthen bank still circles twenty-seven metres of grass, though the entrance has vanished under moss and time. People called it a fairy fort, as if admitting they did not understand it. Perhaps they saw shapes moving in the grass at dusk, or perhaps they simply refused to believe ordinary hands built it. The valley below is human, busy, known. The ridge above remains obstinate, keeping its circle closed.

On top of an E-W drumlin ridge near the S edge of the NW-SE Glencar valley. Circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 27.2m N-S; 27.1m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.2m) at E and W, reduced to a scarp (H 1m at N to 2.1m at S and SE) elsewhere. There are slight traces of a fosse (Wth 4.5m) visible as lush vegetation at S, but the original entrance is not identified.
