Fairy forts are no joke. That is a ringfort on a Galway rise, circled on the 1838 map and cut by a field boundary by 1920. Its earth has given way to grass and memory, leaving only a western hint of bank. What lived there is gone, but the shape of its loss remains.

On a rise in undulating pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m); on the 1920 edition a NE-SW running field boundary cut across it.
