What is recorded here

Situated at the crest of the E-facing slope of the N-S River Slaney valley, with the river c. 850m to the E and c. 60m lower. This is an oval area (dims. 54m NNE-SSW; 31m WNW-ESE) defined by earthen bank (Wth 5.2-6.3m; int. H 0.5-1m; ext. H 1.3-1.6m) with a complete outer fosse (Wth of top 4.5-7.3m; D 0.7-1 m), and a counterscarp bank SSE-SW. The ramp entrance (Wth 4m) is at NE. It is growing mixed woodland trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
