What is recorded here

Three earthen rings adjoin in Moonhall pasture, the largest spanning fifty metres beside a forgotten castle. They are not a temporary fairy circle but a layered human settlement where neighbours likely shared walls, firelight and danger. The field boundary that once cut across the northern edge has vanished, leaving the rings continuous under open sky.

In reclaimed pasture. A roughly circular enclosure (diam. 46-50m) defined by a fosse. There is a slightly smaller circular enclosure (KK020-117----) adjoining to the NW and another (KK020-116----) immediately W of and adjoin the latter. All three are located immediately SE of a castle (KK020-022001-) and associated deserted settlement (KK020-022004-). On the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map a field boundary is indicated running roughly ESE-WNW through the N perimeter of the monument, this field boundary had been removed by the 1900 revision.
