Fairy forts scatter across Ireland like forgotten coins, each a small ring of earth where human life and fairy speculation still tangle. In Mooghna one such ring remains, a quiet earthwork that may have been a farmstead, a boundary marker or a child’s climbing hill before becoming a fairy fort in local memory. The name does not dismiss the people who built or lived there; it admits that the purpose has blurred into legend.
