What is recorded here

Fairy forts are human and ordinary. They are small defended farmsteads from the Iron Age and early medieval period, usually built between 500 BC and 900 AD. The fairies entered later as a playful explanation for abandoned or unexplained ruins. This is a human fortress, not a magical one.

On NW-facing slope of a ridge in grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 51m) defined by a bank from NW through E to S. A field bank cuts the rath at NW and S, to SW of which a degraded scarp forms the enclosing element. Possible external fosse at S. A gap (Wth 2m) at SE could be original.
