What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Milltown North occupies an oval pasture slope above a river valley, its earth bank and shallow ditch marking a small human stronghold from the remote past. The entrance faces southeast toward descending ground, inviting entry into shadowed trees rather than open sky. Seven hundred metres west, another walled enclosure waits, suggesting a neighbourhood of occupied hills where families lived, argued, and disappeared into legend.
In pasture, on SE-facing slope into river valley. Oval area (29.5m N-S; 22.5m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank, with external fosse (D 0.55m; Wth 2.8m) SW->N and ENE->E. Bank (int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.55m), best preserved N->SW, lowers SW->W. Fosse, best preserved SW->N, has dry-stone boundary wall running along base WSW->NNW and clipping outer edge N->ENE and S->SW. Entrance (Wth 3.2m) at SE, with stone kerbing on S edge. Interior, covered with mature deciduous trees, slopes down to SE. Enclosure is contained within small square field (L c. 30m) bounded by dry-stone wall. A similar walled-in enclosure lies 700m to WNW (LI020-001---).
