Fairy fort in Meenahony, County Cork: a 25m earthen ring on a north slope above the Shournagh River, its bank 1.4m high with a gap to the north. People may have lived there, marked territory, watched the river or simply kept rain out; the shape still does that work. What is absent is not emptiness. The hill, river and remaining bank continue the distinction between inside and outside.

In rough grazing, on N-facing slope, overlooking Shournagh River. Heavily overgrown, circular area (diam. c. 25m) defined by earthen bank (int. H1.4m). Gap in bank to N. Interior raised on N side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
