Maulnahorna holds a twenty-five metre earthen ring on a boggy slope, marking one of eight similar fences clustered near Derreendarragh. Its bank still stands fifteen centimetres above the inside and half a metre above the outside, while a mysterious internal ridge cuts across the southern half. The name suggests fairy occupation, yet the repeated local shape points instead to human neighbourhood, perhaps a small settlement hiding in pasture.

Internal diam. 25m N-S, c. 26m E-W This roughly circular univallate rath is located in boggy pasture on a N facing slope of Knockanaskill, a short distance W of a tributary of Derreendarragh river. A modern field boundary obscures the enclosing elements at E, where the original entrance may have been located. Elsewhere the bank has an average internal height of .85m, an external height of 1.5m and is 2.2m wide. The external fosse is up to 1m deep and is 1.8m in basal width. A low semicircular earthen bank traverses the S half of the site's interior, abutting its enclosing element at SSE and SW. It is not clear if this feature is contemporary with the rath. Almost centrally located is a circular fionnán enclosure (KE092-004002-), 4m in diameter. Seven similar enclosures are located in the area immediately N of the site.
