Castle CO023-109--- stands east of the Marybrook ringfort, while eighteenth century farm buildings cut through the southeast edge of the earthwork. The fort keeps a broad circular line on the southern slope, overlooking the Awbeg River and the orchard that now fills its middle. Its low ridge and outer ditch are modest, but they mark a place where people lived, worked and watched the valley long before the farm changed its shape.

Circular area (40m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by low rise (H c. 0.4m) with external depression (D 0.5m); most clearly visible S->NNE and traceable NNE->ESE.
