Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Markree Demesne is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Markree Demesne, County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies a woodland rise and forms a circular area about 30 metres across. A 3.5 metre wide bank and external fosse enclose the site, while trees and dense overgrowth now cover the bank and interior.
In woodland, on top of a rise. A circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by a bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.4m) and an external fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 0.4m). The bank is planted with trees and the interior is covered with dense overgrowth. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
